I took a break from posting these, but as we head for the holidays I thought I’d share again the things I’ve been discovering this year.

Last summer and fall, I was being asked so often that I found it simpler to create a series of posts sharing the things I was enjoying that week. It was really a lot of fun searching for new things to experience and finding new favorites. I took a break for the Christmas season, I simply had too much going on. And when COVID-19 began, it seemed inappropriate.

Instead of finding new things to love, during the lockdowns, I spent a lot of focus inside my house reassessing old loves and falling in love with some of them again, while removing others. In hindsight, I possibly should have shared those adventures, as well. Some of them were quite fun.

As I write this, we are just beginning November 2020. Elections are wrapping up and my 50th birthday was a week ago.

In the spirit of my birthday, I’ve decided to take up the adventure again. Sometimes I might be sharing new treats, sometimes I might share how I reunited with a previously loved item; I had so much fun with that earlier this spring.

Either way, I hope you are inspired to take your own adventures. And share them!

Tool:
First up, the Eccolo World Traveler Lined Journal. My preference is the Flexible ones in the 8 x 9 3/4 size. I love the flexible nature of them. And with 256 pages, they last me quite a long time, well – long time for a journal that is. Nice ribbon, sturdy cover, lines that are not too tight and not too wide. It’s just about the perfect journal for me.

Comfort:
Ritual Drinking Chocolate. I bought this for my husband’s birthday party in September. He had wanted to go to Belize for a few years now, but with the travel restrictions it wasn’t going to be possible. Instead, I brought Belize to him. Including this drinking chocolate. He wasn’t a fan, he prefers sweet chocolate. So I swiped it and added it to my tea stash. Warm and comforting. I can understand why the Mayans drank so much of this. Stone ground. Flavorful. You really don’t miss the sugary sweetness of the kind of “hot chocolate” we’ve come to be used to. If you need a little sweetener, I’d recommend a dab of honey. Ritual has a variety of these drinking chocolates, sourced from around the globe. I will definitely be coming back to try more. This will be perfect in the  winter while I snuggle under a blanket, writing in my Eccolo journal or reading a book.  … these will likely be a staple in my gift giving this holiday season.

Ritual – Drinking Chocolate

Book:
I read a lot of books. One paper and one audio per week on average. Most of them are amazing. I plan to be creating a page just for sharing these books, but for now I’ll include them in these posts. One of my absolute favorites from this year was Aubrey Marcus’s Own The Day, Own Your Life. I will be the first to admit, I had a lot of resistance about this book and Aubrey himself. I have no idea why. Most of the motivators I follow are men, I usually resonate with their no BS attitudes much more than I resonate with the softer female coaches and speakers. This year, I made it a point to dig in when I felt resistance. This book was one of those times. And I am glad I did. You are welcome to read my review on Goodreads, and then decide for yourself.
