As this day blooms with our first real snow of the year, I find myself seeking warmth and comfort on my couch with a giant mug of my favorite tea, at least this week, Numi Rose Tea (I do after all have a minor tea addiction). The mug, purchased as a gift to myself last spring, bears a phrase I have incorporated into my life “Live, Laugh, Love.” It reminds me of the good times with my mom before she passed.
While I sip my tea, I am knee deep in one of the best skills books I have read recently, Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott. I love Ms Lamott’s writing style and humor. Both are well represented in this book. I have been devouring “how-to” tomes since I began drafting my own book earlier this fall. And this one has been by far one of the best. If you have decided to sit down to write that book we all have in us, take a look at this book on your way.
Also shown is my latest pencil holder (yes, I also have an addiction to pens and their carriers). This was a gift from my husband for my birthday, as was the Rose tea mentioned above. Last year’s gift was that fluffy puppy gazing up from the background of the photo. Eagerly waiting for me to just sit down already so he can curl up in my lap or on the pillow next to me. Anywhere as long as he can have at least one paw touching me.
If you’ve been following this series, I would be interested if you have tried any of the items I have posted about. I would also love to hear from you about what some of your favorite items are that bring joy to your life.
