Anyway, Gratitude was mentioned in a post in a Facebook study group I manage. I asked the group if they would like to do an intentional Gratitude practice for 30 days and the answer was “YES!” So here we are.
#GratitudeExpands is a movement I created in 2015. (I have moved websites since then or I would link you to the article.) I had been reading how powerful it is to begin your day with gratitude and I wanted to give it a try for myself. I invited a few friends, threw the hashtag out on social media and began my practice.
It went well and the daily practice remained for a time. After awhile, without the intentional focus of sharing with others, the practice began to dwindle. I renewed it in 2016 and again in 2017. Apparently this needs to be an annual thing. Sometimes the same people join, but always we get new faces.
It never fails to amaze me how powerful cooperative practices can be. A group meditation, mindfulness practice, gratitude, yoga asana, you name it. Humans are social creatures and the energy we create when we come together proves it.
